The first phase of an effort to establish an official Integral Institute chapter in Australia has now begun.

We are excited to share with you some news recently sent to us by Robb Smith, CEO of the Integral Institute, in consultation with Ken Wilber.

This news was received in response to a request sent by us to Robb, requesting that our organisation, Integral Institute Australia, be granted a probationary period of support from the Integral Institute (USA), to conduct a consultative process to help define and map how an Australian-based group could best serve the local Integral community.

The initial seed for the development of an official Australian-based Integral Institute came in the form of a request from Robb Smith to one of our (now) board members in 2008. This request was to consider forming what was expected to become the world’s first International chapter of the Integral Institute, based in Australia.

Our request for a probationary period was based on our desire to build value and confidence, from the perspectives of Robb Smith, Ken Wilber and broader Integral thinking and practice. As per our request, this probationary period has been granted to Integral Institute Australia for the period ending 31 December 2011, unless revised beforehand.

The interim board of Integral Institute Australia are deeply honored and grateful for the opportunity that has been presented to us. We are committed to being in service to the current, emerging and future integral communities within Australia, and more broadly.
